What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring a photo ID, insurance card, a list of your medications, and any prior test results if available.
How early should I arrive for my appointment?
We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to allow time for check-in.
Can I eat or drink before my test or procedure?
Instructions vary depending on the procedure. Our office will provide specific preparation guidelines.
Do you offer televisits?
Yes, televisits are available for follow-up care and second opinions. Please contact us to schedule.
How do I request a medication refill?
Please call our office or use the patient portal at least 3 business days before you run out of medication.
How quickly can I be seen if my doctor refers me?
Urgent referrals are seen the same or next day. Routine referrals are typically scheduled within a week.
What symptoms should prompt me to see a cardiologist?
Chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, fainting, leg pain or swelling, or non-healing wounds should all be evaluated promptly.
What is PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease)?
PAD is narrowing or blockage of arteries in the legs that can cause pain, poor wound healing, and increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
What is the difference between a stress test and an echocardiogram?
A stress test evaluates how the heart performs under exertion, while an echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart’s structure and function.
Are vein treatments painful?
Most vein procedures are minimally invasive and performed with local anesthesia. Patients typically return to normal activity the same day.
How do I prepare for a vascular ultrasound?
Most vascular ultrasounds require no special preparation. Our office will provide specific instructions if needed.
Can I get a second opinion at Flow Heart & Vascular?
Yes, Dr. Patel is available for second opinions on complex cases including coronary artery disease, PAD, arrhythmias, and heart failure.
Do you provide emergency care?
We provide urgent outpatient care for many conditions, but patients with severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, or stroke symptoms should call 911 immediately.
